Health is an indispensable condition for achievement of high sports results. For the purpose of maintenance or recovery of health routine sports medical examinations are required for athletes.

Diagnostics, consultations and support of the state of health, including medical treatment, are a part of complex sports medical care of athletes in elite sport.

Important point in sports medical examination is comprehensive examination of sports suitability. Inspection is necessary for all who want to begin new sport or are already an athlete.

Surely heart, blood circulation and a musculoskeletal system are examined. Thus, the risks for health revealed at early stages can be minimized.

Analyses for athletes

The procedure of sports medical examination is in many respects standardized: at first the doctor collects the anamnesis, asks about earlier existing painful states. Basic check consists of inspection of all body, an ECG at rest, an electrocardiography with an exercise stress. After that comprehensive consultation on the planned sport at the sports doctor follows.
During profound inspection of athletes the following analyses are added to above-mentioned procedures:

1. Ekhokardiogramma.
2. Ergospirometriya.
3. Anthropometrical research.
4. Functions of joints and muscles are checked.
5. Blood tests and urine are investigated.
6. Complex ultrasonography of bodies of a small pelvis and abdominal organs.
7. Ultrasonography of a thyroid gland and epithelial bodies.
8. Routine inspections.

If during sports medical examination morbid conditions are not found, the athlete is considered healthy.

How often do athletes need to pass medical board?

Inspection it is necessary to carry out 1-2 times a year. Any person is more senior than 35 years has to be examined at least once a year. Does not matter if you feel perfectly and you regularly train.

People are more senior than 35 years which took a break for one year in the sport, have to be examined surely before the repeated introduction in sports activity. It is not necessary to underestimate risks. Even healthy athletes suddenly have accidents. Often the reason is in sharply proceeding heavy cardiac arrhythmia (fibrillation of ventricles). Timely sports medical examinations help to minimize such risks.
